About the Position

As a Chromatographic Chemist, your role involves supporting a broad range of chromatographic methods (HPLC, GC, GC-HS) for analysis of raw materials and excipients for pharmaceutical production. You will play a key role in our digital journey, using your professional expertise and interest in digitalization and automation to ensure the quality of released raw materials, thus guaranteeing our production flow.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Implementing automatic transfer of results from Empower to LIMS for our chromatographic methods
  • Developing and validating custom fields in Empower, as well as creating and establishing new methods in LIMS
  • Troubleshooting and providing support to the laboratory for Empower/LIMS-related challenges
  • Ensuring method updates, validation, and maintenance

You will work closely with the team's Empower/LIMS specialists and collaborate across the team to support our laboratory technicians, as well as engage in project work with other chemists. Additionally, you will collaborate with our development department, Material Manufacturing Development, in implementing new methods and troubleshooting, optimizing, and digitalizing existing methods.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we imagine you:

  • Hold a relevant scientific education in pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology, or a similar field
  • Possess practical experience and a strong understanding of chromatography, combined with an interest – and flair – for IT systems OR
  • Have a background as a laboratory technician if you have extensive experience with chromatography and are a superuser/static builder in Empower/LIMS
  • Showcase fluency in both spoken and written Danish and English

It would be considered an advantage if you are familiar with working according to pharmacopoeias (Ph.Eur., USP, JP, and CP) and possess experience within a GMP environment.

As a person, you have a strong analytical mindset, and thrive in navigating complex data, while fostering effective collaboration and clear communication with colleagues and stakeholders. Your adept problem-solving skills and natural curiosity for new technologies and digital solutions drive your innovative thinking, which helps you come up with creative solutions. About the Department

Sourcing QC is part of Sourcing Operations, which is responsible for the incoming supply chain at Novo Nordisk. Sourcing QC is responsible for the chemical analysis of raw materials, excipients, and primary packaging materials, as well as the physical testing of primary and secondary packaging materials. The department comprises approximately 110 employees divided into 5 teams: Two chemical teams, two packaging material teams, and a chromatographic team, all located in Hillerød.

This position is within our chromatographic team, which, along with the two chemical teams, is responsible for chemical control of raw materials/excipients for both APIs and finished products. The team consists of 14 laboratory technicians, one laboratory apprentice, and 4 chemists. We have an open and dynamic work environment with frequent professional sparring and collaboration across professional groups, where adaptability is key. The diverse tasks and many methods ensure continuous development and challenges.
