The position

As Strategic Business Partner, you will act as a strategic sparring partner to the Corporate Vice President and you will join the Cardio-renal leadership team in global drug discovery. You will be responsible for contributing to the development and operationalisation of initiatives within the Therapy Area and work across the organisation and value chain.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a trusted advisor for the CVP on key business matters and providing insights and analyses to support decision-making

  • Assisting and contributing to development, formulation and execution of strategic projects and objectives

  • Dash boarding and pattern spotting across drug discovery and development projects

  • Advocating for the therapy area and solving resourcing conflicts within operational support functions

  • Preparing presentations and agendas for leadership and executive meetings

  • Overseeing project tracking and management, including maintaining an overview of operational activities and contributing to reporting processes

  • Managing ad hoc tasks such as planning off-site events

The position will be based in either Måløv, Denmark or London/Oxford, UK.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in life science with minimum 5 years of experience within MedTech, biotech or the pharmaceutical industry

  • Solid project management experience and experience in driving strategic projects in a complex organisation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.

  • Experience in translational science or human-centric drug discovery would be an advantage

On a personal level, you are proactive, well-organised and capable of effectively navigating complex business challenges and driving strategic initiatives. You are curious and confident engaging with complex technical and medical subject-matters. You are ambitious for the potential of science to make a difference to patients.

About the department

The position is anchored in Cardiorenal Research within Global Drug Discovery at Novo Nordisk. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy withing chronic disease, we are focusing on target identification, target validation and pre-clinical characterisation of new assets intended to become novel treatment for patients with cardiometabolic diseases. In close collaboration with our colleagues, we are working to develop, characterise, and utilise in vitro tools to elucidate mod-of-action and profiling of novel biology and molecules for early drug candidates.
