About Strategic Sourcing

Strategic Sourcing (Global Strategic Outsourcing & Devices (GSOD) and Strategic Sourcing Inbound Materials & Services (SSIMS)) is the central commercial sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, and we are responsible for ensuring we have suppliers in place to support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration and negotiations with international supplier networks, we guarantee availability of products and services required to deliver our end products. Ultimately helping millions of people around the world to live with chronic diseases. Category Manager / Senior Category Manager

Our Category Managers have a high level of autonomy and are responsible for suppliers aligned to their category of expertise. With a solid understanding of the market, they act as a business partner, driving the commercial agenda and providing sourcing insights to key internal stakeholders. One of the key areas where you will have a high impact is on identifying and executing sourcing initiatives, to ensure your category is prepared for significant growth. We will also give you full ownership of category management including - supplier relations, budget, risk mitigation and price/contract negotiations. For us good supplier relationships are critical to ensure the right balance between risk management and protecting our supplier network. Working as part of a wider team you will have a wide range of experienced colleagues to spar with and effectively navigate whatever challenges you might encounter.

You will be working with suppliers internationally and hence you should expect 10-20 days of travel activities per year.

Qualifications

If you have the following skills, we would like to hear from you:

  • Academic degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or other relevant areas.
  • Previous experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or category management, contract negotiation, budget management
  • Contract Manufacturing experience – selling or sourcing
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry if preferable (pharmaceutical, medical devices, food, aerospace, or retail).


Categories include - GMP Raw Material; Primary and Printed Packaging Material; Distribution; Warehousing; Energy; GMP services; Injection pen systems; Connectivity modules; Pen Needles; Outsourcing of drug substance materials (API), production outsourcing of filling/assembly/packaging; Raw Materials & Bioprocessing.
