The position

As a Data Scientist/Statistician in CMC Development & Scaling, you support the development of products, manufacturing processes and analytical methods together with four competent colleagues. You cooperate with colleagues of other areas of expertise across the organisation to solve their problems using advance statistical methods. Good solutions balance business needs and quality requirements, and close collaboration with stakeholders is needed to ensure this. You will have the opportunity to leverage your exceptional communication skills and proactively engage with stakeholders within our organization to introduce and implement new ideas.

You can look forward to a broad variety of responsibilities, such as:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and present statistical solutions in a clear language and ensure that they are used as intended.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and drive the adoption of new ideas within the organization.
  • Utilize your expertise in data science to drive digital transformation and automate across CMC Development & Scaling.
  • Develop and teach courses and workshops in statistical topics.

The statistical tools are often linear mixed models, design of experiments, general explorative statistics, multivariate statistics, and statistical process control. It is important that you are curious by nature in terms of new technologies and have an interest in areas like e.g., Machine learning, digital transformation etc.

Qualifications

You have a strong background in mathematical statistics as Master's in Science or Ph.D. in statistics or engineering. Preferably you have at least 3 years of experience from a similar position in the pharmaceutical industry with a proven track record. Alternatively, you could be a recent graduate with a strong statistical background and a solid desire to pursue a career within Statistics and Data Science. You speak and write English and preferably also Danish fluently.

It will be considered an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with implementation of Machine learning models in controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAS for Windows and SAS JMP
  • Experience with R and (or) python.
  • Experience of working in consultancy role or similar to ensure great stakeholder management and communication skills.

As a person, you are curious and interested in other scientific disciplines. You attend to details and are systematic in your work, while also focusing on how to simplify complex matters to communicate clearly with other scientists, management, or regulatory authorities. You work independently, with high engagement, and a drive to make improvements where you see the possibilities.

About the Department

You are part of the function CMC Digitalisation, Data & Outsourcing that delivers specialised support to CMC Development & Scaling. We are five statisticians in the department. We value creativity, innovation, and the ability to work with people of different background and focus on standardising and optimising work processes. You have ample opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills as well as influencing your job.

CMC Digitalisation, Data & Outsourcing is a function of approx. 60 highly competent colleagues with the shared goal to support the Novo Nordisk drug development pipeline. The statisticians in the department support the Novo Nordisk drug development pipeline through statistical support and process optimisation.
