The position

As the Director of Clinical Trial Simulations, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of modelling scientists, reporting directly to the Vice President of PMX

As a Director of Clinical Trial Stimulations at Novo Nordisk, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Entail oversight of a modelling and automation group, with a dedicated focus on clinical trial simulations and providing early project support
  • You will be accountable for coordinating simulations for all novel projects as they join the clinical pipeline, ensuring that there is an automated and optimized framework in place, leveraging state-of-the-art tools, including artificial intelligence.
  • Connect all dots in the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic storyline throughout the development process
  • Optimize trial design in close interaction with the medical/statistics/clinical Pharmacology
  • End-to-end thinking to optimize drug development

The position will be based in either Søborg (Denmark) or the East Coast (US).

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
  • A strong management background with a strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in modelling and simulation (PKPD), with experience in clinical trial simulations (Ph.D. preferred), including understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in clinical trial simulations.
  • Expert knowledge on pharmacokinetics
  • Proficiency in Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modelling and physiologically based extensions.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Good at setting clear objectives and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and committed to high personal integrity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

About the department

In Pharmacometrics (PMX) we are approximately 30 modelling scientists organised in two departments and supporting the entire Novo Nordisk development portfolio (e.g. Diabetes, Obesity, rare blood disorders, and other serious chronic diseases), with model-based analyses, from the strategic planning and execution of first-in-human trials to regulatory submissions. We are involved from planning and execution of first in human trials to registration and beyond. As we support all drugs in clinical development, across phases, we perform a wide variety of modelling tasks. We see our Pharmacometric department as a strong scientific community that face many interesting and challenging tasks in the drug development process.
