About the department
Digital, Data & IT - Research & Early Development (DDIT-RED) supports the strategic digital transformation of our R&ED organisation in Novo Nordisk needed to realise its strategy. We are responsible for developing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and supporting the data-, middleware, and IT infrastructure used by the R&ED across on-premise and in the cloud.


We take pride in being experts in IT infrastructure and platforms and at the same time in having experience and understanding of how our researchers use the platforms, data, and compute power we make available.


About the position
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our technology infrastructure. You are expected to lead technical discussions with Product Owners and technical teams, and sometime to guide team member to achieve outcomes. You'll be at the forefront of building, coding, implementing, and maintaining containerized solutions, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to the evolution of our platform, driving efficiency and innovation.


What you will do
• Build, implement, and manage containerized solutions, ensuring efficient deployment and scalability.
• Collaborate with development and scientist teams to understand application requirements and provide guidance on containerization best practices.
• Manage container orchestration, optimizing resource utilization, deployment of applications, and ensuring the security and stability of containerized applications. Self-service for scientist deploying applications and models as containers.
• CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and publishing container images. Contribute to the automation of deployment processes and participate in testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Middleware implementing authentication and observability.

About you
We expect you to bring:
• Bachelor's degree within natural sciences, engineering, computer science or another relevant area, or equivalent work experience.
• +5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.
• Demonstrated success in implementing and managing containerized solutions.
• Proficient in platform orchestration tools, primarily on Kubernetes/K8s.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with API testing and development.
• Proactive approach, excellent communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and stakeholders.

We work with various tools and technologies, so it would be an advantage to have knowledge or interest in the following:
• Cloud services: AWS (EKS, ECR, IAM), Kubernetes/K8s, Azure (AKS, Entra).
• Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation tools.
• Python, AWS CDK, Terraform.
• In general, motivated about staying up to date on the latest developments within the field.
