Behind the title

In this role you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with colleagues in India and Denmark, ensuring daily operations of VMware services across all PSnet (Product Supply Network) domains globally, providing advanced troubleshooting, while focusing on agile implementation and simplifying operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and operate VMware vSphere platforms, appliances and supporting tools
• Configure and maintain management appliances and tools, servers and processes, including monitoring of platform health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
• Perform scheduled maintenance, support release deployment activities as well as share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members
• Manage the technical documentation according to Novo Nordisk standards, including Requirement Specifications and Test Plans and ensure a standardized IT infrastructure platform for consistency and reliability
• Take responsibility for deliveries to customers in accordance with approved Service Level Agreements, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and performance of services delivered from Global IT Operations (GITO)-Production Infrastructure

The skills we hope to see

We are looking for a candidate who can fulfil most of the following requirements for this position:

• At least 5 years of practical experience in operating and maintaining VMware environments including incident handling
• Solid knowledge and practical/hands-on experience within the VMware field along with good understanding of VMware technology stack, including Aria Operations
• Operating experience in Hyper-converged infrastructures, like VxRail and HPE SimpliVity
• Proficiency in infrastructure, operations domain area and other IT technologies (e.g. networks, servers, platforms, applications, firewalls, etc.), as well as deep understanding in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), preferably practical experience including e.g., scripting
• Certain level of mobility, since travel to our production sites might be necessary depending on the activity
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Bachelor`s, Master`s degree, MBA, or a comparable graduate degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or Business

Administration considered as a plus
• VCP certification is considered as a plus

In terms of agile skills, the candidate is expected to work in an Agile manner, supporting processes such as DSU, DEMO, and PI Plannings. Extensive knowledge of Agile principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) is crucial, along with a deep understanding of the Agile mindset and culture.

Our Production IT Infrastructure department is responsible for setting the direction of a global uniform IT infrastructure in Product Supply by delivering compliant operations, effective IT Security controls and best-practice infrastructure standards.
Moreover, our department look after the definition, implementation and maintenance of Product Supply IT network infrastructure (PSnet) supporting the manufacturing equipment and applications that are used in the production process. PSnet can be seen as a large network that connects and aligns all the Novo Nordisk productions networks in a uniform and regulated approach.
