Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at the Nalunaq Mine Site in Southern Greenland.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to the project team.

Role: Ironworker, Red Seal
Location: Nanortalik, Greenland

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work.

Duties include:

• Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Erect, install, align, and secure structural steel, metal frameworks, and components
• Install reinforcing steel (rebar), wire mesh, and related materials
• Perform rigging, hoisting, and positioning of steel components using cranes and lifting equipment
• Bolt, weld, cut, and fasten metal components using appropriate tools and equipment
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
• Assist with layout, measuring, and preparation of work areas
• Complete daily work reports and required documentation
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet construction schedules
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance legislation
• Possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

• Red Seal Ironworker certification

• Must be familiar with working in construction and mining environments
• 5+ years of experience in structural steel erection and reinforcing work
• Experience working on large-scale industrial or mine construction projects
• Ability to work in a remote mine environment, including outdoor work, varying weather conditions, heights, and physically demanding conditions
• Strong knowledge of structural steel installation methods, tools, and safety procedures
• Experience with rigging, hoisting, and working at heights
• Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment
• Able to make sound decisions while working in a fast-paced environment near equipment and personnel

Safety Requirements

• First Aid training would be an asset
• Fall protection would be an asset

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Remote Work in Northern Climates
• Working outside
• Local accommodations provided, with camp construction pending
• This position will be required to be on an extended work schedule, with longer hours and weekend work necessary to progress the project in a short construction season 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
