JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operator, preferably Greenlandic, to join our team at Nalunaq Mine Processing Plant. This is a rotational position based in a remote location. The Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the Processing Plant equipment, contributing to the overall productivity and success of the mine.

ROTATION: 4 Weeks on / 4 Weeks off

LOCATION: Nalunaq Mine, Greenland

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and monitor Processing Plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, grinding mills, gold room, and other plant machinery.
  • Maintain optimal performance levels of equipment by adjusting controls, monitoring system alarms, and resolving operational issues.
  • Conduct routine checks and inspections to ensure that all plant machinery is functioning within set parameters.
  • Monitor and regulate material flow and processing rates to achieve maximum production output and efficiency.
  • Report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtime.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Assist in start-up and shutdown procedures for the plant and ensure safe operations during these times.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring the safe handling of chemicals and materials involved in the processing.
  • Keep accurate logs of equipment operation, production levels, and any incidents or irregularities that occur during the shift.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks and cleaning of processing equipment as directed.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as maintenance, electrical, and technical teams to ensure the smooth running of the plant

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Problem-solving skills with the capacity to respond to operational challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to monitor multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work shifts in a remote, rotational setting.
  • Good communication skills in English and/or Greenlandic.
  • Good teamwork skills, with the ability to report effectively and work with maintenance and technical teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting heavy equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and rugged environments.
  • Physically capable of handling long hours, standing for extended periods, and performing manual tasks as required.
