About the role
As our Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring sound financial management, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the property’s strategic goals. This includes overseeing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting while providing strategic insight to support the hotel’s commercial performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead all day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and cash flow management.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Danish GAAP/IFRS.
- Oversee preparation and submission of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of management reports for internal stakeholders and corporate head office.
Strategic & Commercial Support
- Partner with the General Manager and department heads to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop financial models to evaluate hotel performance, investment opportunities, and pricing strategies.
- Advise on strategies to maximize revenue, manage costs, and improve profitability.
- Provide insight on financial risks and opportunities within the market context.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Danish tax laws, financial regulations, and hospitality industry standards.
- Manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and corporate finance teams.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial irregularities.
- Oversee adherence to group financial policies and procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
- Ensure staff are trained in financial systems, policies, and hospitality-specific financial processes.
- Collaborate closely with People & Culture and Operations on payroll, benefits, and labour cost control.
Systems & Process Optimization
- Oversee financial systems
- Streamline financial workflows to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Support digital transformation and automation initiatives in finance and reporting.
About you

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred) or Qualified by Experience
- CIMA or ACCA qualification desirable.
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of Danish accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Proven experience managing budgets of comparable scale (multi-million DKK operations).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with hotel management systems (Opera, Micros, etc.).
