The role
As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring we source quality goods and services at the most competitive terms and conditions. You'll work closely with different departments/projects to understand their needs, find qualified vendors, negotiate contracts, place orders and track deliveries.
To be successful as a Purchasing Specialist, you'll need a blend of analytical skills, strong communication, and a keen eye for detail. To secure the most favourable agreement, you will need to apply strong negotiation skills, technical understanding, and a holistic mindset.
In this position, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape and develop your own role and responsibilities, as you and the company evolves. The position is part of the Procurement & Mobilization Department and will report to the Head of Procurement & Mobilization.
Key responsibilities
- Research suppliers of goods and services
- Prepare and organize RFQ’s, and negotiate purchasing terms and conditions
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
- Qualification and auditing of suppliers
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Prepare and issue purchase orders
Skills, abilities, and knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive working relationships.
- 3+ years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role.
- Superb communication and negotiation skills
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Well organized team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English language
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred.
