Business Development Manager – Global Sanding & Polishing Segment
Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer.
About the Role
You will be part of a dynamic and ambitious company with a bold vision. In this role, you will drive market development and revenue growth for OnRobot’s sanding tools, working through distributors, system integrators, machine tool builders, robot OEMs, and end users. Your mission is to expand partner capability and build a high-quality pipeline of sanding automation projects where OnRobot’s tools are specified and deployed.
This role is based at our HQ in Odense, Denmark.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Find, contact, and qualify new partner opportunities for developing standard sanding and polishing solutions using OnRobot products.
- Structure, negotiate, and close frame purchasing agreements creating long-term order pipeline.
- Find, contact, and qualify new sales opportunities with manufacturers in key markets doing sanding and polishing applications.
- Value pitch/sell to production and factory managers.
- Provide routine follow-up reports to the manager, including plans, qualified leads, pipeline updates, etc.
- Organize schedule and activities in a clear and structured manner.
- Facilitate co-visits with distribution partners.
- Capture customer needs and shop-floor realities (e.g., part handling, changeovers, productivity goals) and share insights with internal teams.
- Represent OnRobot at exhibitions, open houses, and customer events to raise visibility and generate new business.
- Work with partners and internal teams to ensure smooth deployments and long-term satisfaction.
Profile & Requirements
- 5+ years of business development, technical sales, or application engineering within automation, robotics, or surface finishing.
- Solid understanding of sanding and polishing workflows and how automation tools can improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Demonstrated ability to grow business through partners: recruiting, enabling, and building repeatable offerings.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to work with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Self-starter with high energy and focus on results; thrives in an international, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 50–70%).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Professional proficiency in English; other languages are a plus.
