
Student Assistant DLP & Information Classification
Part-time (10–15 hrs/week) Copenhagen, Start: September 2025
About us
INEOS Energy, Denmark is a mid-sized organisation in the Oil & Gas industry.
We are starting our first formal Data Loss Prevention implementation and need hands-on help to build the foundations.
The role
To support an experienced Information Security Specialist who will build the framework supporting ISO 27001 which will lay the foundation in our compliance roadmap. We are building our DLP framework from scratch: drafting lightweight policies, creating an information classification scheme, and identifying business-critical information (BCI), then implementing and operating controls in our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution - Endpoint Protector.
What you will be involved in
- Build the DLP foundation
- Co-create a pragmatic DLP Framework (scope, principles, roles, governance, exceptions).
- Draft core policies: Information Classification Standard, Data Handling, Removable Media/USB, Incident Response.
- Produce quick-reference guides and 1-pagers for staff.
- Information classification & BCI identification
- Run short workshops/interviews with Data Owners to define BCI (e.g., CAD/DWG files, customer PII, financial forecasts, vendor contracts).
- Implement a tiered Data classification model with handling rules.
- Map the initial data inventory (systems, locations, owners), draft simple data-flow diagrams, and align with NIS2where relevant.
- Turn policy into controls in our DLP solution
- Configure Device Control, Content-Aware Protection, eDiscovery, Enforced Encryption.
- Map labels/dictionaries to rules.
- Awareness & enablement
- Draft short comms, tips, and micro-trainings.
Requirements
- Currently studying BSc/MSc in Computer Science, IT-Security, Information Management or similar.
- Solid security fundamentals and GDPR basics; clear written English.
- Hands-on with Windows, Microsoft 365.
Nice to have
- Exposure to DLP tools (Endpoint Protector a plus), Power BI.
- Familiarity with NIS2 (Danish BEK 260 and LOV 258), GDPR, labels or data governance.
- Danish language skills.
