The team you will manage consists of 11 Product managers – a mix of 5 Global PMs (based in Ballerup (DK) and Europe), 3 EU Product (Market) Managers (all with direct reporting lines to you) and 3 Product Managers in US, China and Japan with dotted-line reporting.

You drive the growth with global stakeholders
The In-Market PM Director oversees the commercialization and market execution of existing products, ensuring successful launch and ongoing performance. The focus is on understanding customer needs, developing marketing strategies, managing product portfolio lifecycles, monitoring competitive activity, and collaborating with sales and other teams to achieve business objectives.
You will also be responsible for marketing programs to establish, enhance, or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Part of this will be to develop business plans and product/program positioning in the marketplace. Along the way, you will partner closely with NPD PM on product launch execution, demand planning and forecasting.
- Team Collaboration: You will foster collaboration among various departments – including marketing, sales, product development, and senior management – to ensure cohesive messaging and integrated campaigns that drive business growth.
- Industry Trends: You will stay abreast of the latest marketing trends, digital innovations, and consumer behaviors is essential for this role to adapt strategies and stay ahead of competitors in a rapidly evolving landscape.
- Key Stakeholders: You will interact with Sales, internal teams and key executives to ensure alignment on product growth initiatives and competitor activities that support the company’s overall objectives.
- Success Metrics: Your success is measured by various KPIs: booking and volume growth and market share development.
Key responsibilities:
- Market Understanding and Strategy: Deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and value drivers, translating them into product and marketing strategies. Analyze the competitive landscape, identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies to gain market share. Stay informed about market trends and emerging technologies and recommend strategic adjustments accordingly.
- Product Commercialization: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans, including messaging, sales tools, and promotional campaigns. Manage product launches, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with strategic goals. Manage product lifecycles, including obsolescence plans, and ensure continued relevance and value.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with upstream product management teams to provide feedback and inform roadmap decisions. Work closely with Sales & MarCom teams to provide product messaging, training, tools, and support for product adoption. Partner with other departments (e.g., engineering, operations, quality and pricing) to ensure smooth product execution.
- Business Performance and Accountability: Track and analyze product performance against financial targets, including revenue, gross margin, and market share. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance. Develop and present reports on product performance, market trends, and competitive analysis. Manage budgets for relevant activities.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead both the team of Global In-Market PMs and the PM Matrix team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to nurture talent, foster creativity, and drive high-performance results. Effectively communicate product strategies, market insights, and performance data to various stakeholders. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance product performance and market execution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field; A master’s degree is preferable.
- Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions, also using AI.
- Experience in B2B product management: Several years of product management experience in driving sustainable growth, defining product strategies, managing product lifecycles, and product launch. Relevant industry experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, key executives and stakeholders.
- Leadership and management skills: Several years as successful manager/leader and with at least a few years in senior leadership role. Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals.
