Job / Position Summary

The Plant Controller is a strategic partner to the site leader, serves as the primary business partner to drive operational performance improvement, anticipates trends and challenges and develops strategies to address them & responsible for maintaining strong foundation of controllership, compliance & ethics for our manufacturing facility located in Kvistgaard, Denmark.

This leadership position is for an individual with thorough understanding of financial reporting standards, ability to analyze manufacturing and spending trend variances to tell the story behind the results, effectively translate operational events into financial impact.

This position will report directly to the Global Business Unit Controller located in company HQ in Lisle, IL, USA, with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of the site’s financial information in accordance with Danish law and schedules and content required by corporate and business unit management, prepares monthly/periodic reports to enhance management’s understanding of the results.
  2. Responsible for orchestrating and further enhancing quarterly forecasting and the annual operating plan along with annual standard cost setting process.
  3. Prepares / validates various manufacturing metrics including cost savings, inventory performance, and weekly manufacturing variances (labor efficiencies, PPV, yield / scrap).
  4. Effectively models financial impact of business decisions including preparing capital expenditure justifications.
  5. Performs ad hoc analysis including trend analysis, actual vs. budget analysis, inventory management.
  6. Supports internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years of experience in an accounting role
  • Knowledge of accounting in a manufacturing environment required
  • Oracle / HFM & SAP experience preferred but not required,
  • MBA preferred but not required

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate financial information to financial and non-financial managers.
  • Coaching, mentoring and performance management skills for on site / remote staff reporting to this position.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and accounting practices.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and adaptability, respecting Danish work culture while integrating U.S. corporate practices.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across different time zones, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the Group Controller in the U.S.
  • Fluent in Danish and full working proficiency in English required.
