
Head of Quality
As the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for setting and executing UMAGE’s quality vision across the entire value chain - from supplier management to final product delivery and subsequent related QC-responsibilities hereafter. This role requires a deep experience in manufacturing within furniture and preferably lighting, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices. This role involves overseeing quality control, quality assurance, and quality management within the organization. The job is carried out from the headquarters in Copenhagen but requires 7-8 weeks of travel annually.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- QA and QC strategies:
Develop quality strategies aligned with UMAGE’s quality & sustainability policy.
Ensure quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes are in place and effective.
- Formulating and implementing quality policies and work-processes:
Setting guidelines and standards for materials, products, processes, and more.
- Overseeing quality control and manufacturing:
Ensuring that processes, materials, and finished products meet quality requirements.
- Managing inspections and testing:
Oversee inspections, audits and testing procedures.
- Monitoring and resolving quality issues:
Investigating and following up on quality issues at the production line.
Implement process improvement initiatives and use data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance and risk management
Adhering to relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g. FSC, B-Corp) and staying updated on industry changes.
Analyze customer complaints and feedback and drive improvement based on customers insights.
Identify and mitigate quality-related risks and lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Cooperation:
Cooperate with Chief Procurement Officer and QC Managers in Vietnam and China to comply with UMAGE’s quality, environmental and sustainability policies.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Furniture and lighting knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Experience in quality control and assurance: Understanding quality systems, procedures, and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to work with various stakeholders, understand different business cultures including suppliers and customers.
- Quality and compliances tools - experience with Qarma is an advantage.
- Langauge - good Danish and English skills are a must.
