Senior Mechanical Engineer
Do you want to participate in R&D projects and ensure new projects are designed with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) in focus?
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you can expect to divide your time equally between R&D project participation, production and quality support, and Non-Conformance follow-up.
We’re a global leader in materialography, and representing engineering in the product development process, you’ll be looking not only at the machinery itself but also at the close interplay between equipment and materials
Join our international Engineering team
You will collaborate with a team of mechanical, electrical, software, hardware, and chemical engineers based in Denmark and the Czech Republic. Together, we are responsible for all Struer products, ensuring they meet functional, quality, and compliance measures.
Combine classical engineering with product development
In this role, you will act as the daily link between our Engineering, R&D, Production, Service, Sourcing, Purchasing, and Planning departments. As an ambassador for Engineering, you will help ensure that our products are maintained and produced in accordance with all relevant requirements.
In addition to participating in R&D projects, you will:
- Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., based on Non-Conformance Reports – NCR) using Lean methodology (FMEA, 8D) – and you will eventually play a key role in following up and coordinating corrective actions (CAPA)
- Define and implement improvement initiatives regarding quality, functionality, reliability, production readiness, and cost
- Develop and implement continuous improvement projects in Production (e.g., by utilizing automation)
- Contribute to defining product assembly flows and layout
- Create and maintain production documentation (BOM, instructions, technical drawings, datasheets, etc.)
- Process product changes (Engineering Change Notes – ECN) for existing products
Use your engineering experience and strong communication skills
You are a strong communicator who can collaborate across the organization, knowing when and how to offer support and valuable contributions while being able to “take a stand” if needed. (Don’t worry, we’ll have your back!).
With some project management experience, you can coordinate tasks and navigate complex projects with multiple contributors and stakeholders.
You likely have an educational background in mechanical engineering. Alternatively, you have an electro-technical background and substantial mechanical design experience. You will most certainly catch our attention if you have:
- Experience working with electronics and mechatronics products
- Strong skills in 3D design applications (we use SolidWorks)
- Experience using Product Data Management systems (we use Windchill)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean tools
- Proficiency in Danish and English
