As an employee of Apave, you will be based at the office of Baltic Control in Albertslund, which is part of the Apave Group. While this will be your primary workplace, the position also offers flexible working conditions with regular remote work and occasional business travel as part of the role.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of International Legal Affairs of the Group, the International Legal Counsel is responsible for assisting the subsidiaries of Apave based in Northern Europe on legal issues.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
• Monitoring the implementation of Group legal procedures within the subsidiaries.
• Managing the physical archiving of legal documentation within the subsidiaries and ensuring the archiving of electronic copies on dedicated platforms.
Commercial:
• Drafting and reviewing contracts (terms & conditions, tenders, franchise agreements, commercial agreements, partnership agreements, intra-group agreements, etc.) in accordance with Group procedures.
• Legal monitoring of franchise agreements.
• Ensuring the use of standard Group-approved contract templates.
• Updating general terms and conditions.
• Reviewing guarantee requests.
Corporate:
• Managing the day-to-day corporate affairs of the subsidiaries (AGMs, board meetings, capital increases, share transfers, officer changes, reappointment of auditors).
• Handling legal formalities and company register maintenance.
• Preparing/renewing powers of attorney and delegations of authority; ensuring proper archiving.
• Supporting the M&A team and assisting in integrating newly acquired companies.
Real Estate:
• Drafting and reviewing real estate leases.
• Managing real estate acquisition and sale files.
Pre-litigation, Litigation, and Insurance:
• Managing pre-litigation and litigation processes.
• Coordinating with external legal advisors.
• Overseeing the insurance portfolio in collaboration with the Group Litigation & Insurance Manager.
Intellectual Property:
• Supporting Group trademark management.
• Securing intellectual property rights and the know-how of the subsidiaries and Group products.
Additional Information:
• The position is based in the Greater Copenhagen area, with a daily office in Albertslund at Baltic Control, part of the Apave Group.
• Flexible working conditions, including regular remote work, are part of the employment structure.
• Occasional travel activity should be expected.
Profile Required:
• Law Degree, preferably with specialization in business law, contract law, corporate law, or international law.
• 5–7 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house, ideally in an international context. Experience abroad (study or work) is preferred.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to manage support staff.
• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and a methodical work approach.
• Capability to manage multiple cross-functional topics in an international, multicultural setting.
