We are looking for a Platform Technician with a background in peptide chemistry and automated laboratory processes to join our team in Copenhagen, DK.
In this hands-on, lab-based role, you will work on the early stages of discovery and development using the Orbis macrocycle synthesis platform. Reporting to the VP of Platform Chemistry, you will be working closely with your two DK based colleagues and play a key role in the planning and execution of multi-step synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization of complex peptides.
This position offers unparalleled opportunities for professional challenges as you learn about the latest laboratory techniques within automated peptide synthesis while contributing to the design of large macrocyclic libraries. Your work will directly help to progress Orbis’ drug development programs and helping to fulfill our goal of creating orally available macrocycle therapeutics.
As part of the Danish platform team, you will:
- Synthesize macrocycle libraries using advanced laboratory automation tools
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of automated lab instruments, including peptide synthesizers, liquid handling systems, and analytical tools (e.g., LC-MS)
- Analyze, interpret, and document experimental results with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain laboratory equipment and manage the chemical inventory
Your Qualifications
- Technician training, or Bachelors, Bachelors Eng, MSc, MSc Eng.
- Preferably experience with organic synthesis and/or peptide chemistry
- Hands-on experience with various lab instruments (synthesizers, liquid handlers, LC-MS, etc.)
- A results-oriented working style and commitment to high-quality outcomes
- Motivated by having an active lab role
The successful candidate will communicate effectively with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and will work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary international team environment. With good laboratory skills and knowledge of common purification techniques and advanced lab instruments, the candidate has proven ability to learn and leverage new software and technologies.
