The Opportunity:
As the Onboarding Manager reporting to the Country Manager at Emaldo in the Netherlands, you will play a pivotal role in training and supporting installers of our solar and battery storage solutions. Leveraging your qualification as an electrician, you will deliver hands-on training sessions, create onboarding materials, and ensure that our installer network understands and implements best practices for safe, compliant, and effective installations. In addition, you will visit customers on-site to resolve any technical issues that an installer is unable to fix remotely, acting as the key escalation point for complex field problems.
This is a full-time position with based in Amsterdam (with frequent travel to customer sites)
What would be your key responsibilities:
Installer Onboarding & Training
- Develop and deliver training programs (classroom, virtual, on-site) to equip new and existing installers with the necessary skills and knowledge to install and maintain Emaldo’s solar and battery solutions.
- Create and update training materials, including manuals, videos, and demonstration kits, ensuring they are clear, user-friendly, and accurate.
Technical Support & Escalation
- Serve as the go-to technical expert for installers facing advanced or complex issues during the installation or maintenance process.
- When necessary, travel to customer sites to resolve problems that cannot be addressed via phone or remote support, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with Dutch electrical codes, health and safety regulations, and Emaldo’s internal standards.
- Conduct periodic site audits or spot checks to confirm compliance and maintain quality standards across the installer network.
Collaboration with Technical Support Specialists
- Work closely with the Technical Support and Sales teams to gather feedback about common challenges installers face, identifying areas for training improvement.
- Provide insight into product issues and field performance to help shape product enhancements and refinements.
Relationship Management
- Build strong, trusting relationships with installer partners, serving as their primary technical liaison for new product launches or updates.
- Represent Emaldo at industry events, trade shows, or training seminars to cultivate a network of well-trained, engaged installers.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of installer training, site visits, and issue resolutions.
- Generate periodic reports on training outcomes, common technical issues, and recommendations for process or product improvements.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in solar and battery installations.
- Proactively suggest enhancements to onboarding procedures, training materials, and field support processes.
What we are looking for:
Electrical Qualification
- Required: Recognized electrical certification (e.g., MBO Elektrotechniek or equivalent) and valid electrician’s license/credentials in the Netherlands.
- Practical field experience with solar PV, inverters, and battery systems is strongly preferred.
Technical Expertise
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience installing and maintaining solar PV or battery storage systems.
- Proficiency with electrical codes, safety regulations, and troubleshooting principles (AC/DC systems, inverters, battery management).
Training & Coaching
- Demonstrated ability to train or coach others, whether through formal sessions or informal mentorship.
- Skilled at communicating technical concepts in a clear, accessible manner to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving & Field Support
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the resilience to address onsite issues under time pressure.
- Comfortable traveling to client premises and working in varying field conditions (rooftops, outdoor sites).
Communication Skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships with installers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Technical Tools & Systems
- Familiarity with using digital tools (e.g., CRM, ticketing systems) to log and track training and support activities.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office or similar for creating training documents and reports.

- Adaptable & Proactive: Able to think on your feet and adjust training or field support approaches to different installer skill levels and site conditions.
