For our Protein Diversity Department, we are looking for a Research Scientist skilled in Protein Engineering to join our team of dedicated technicians and scientists. Protein Diversity is responsible for developing new and improved enzymes for a wide range of industrial applications. To do so we use cutting edge technology within the fields of protein engineering and synthetic and molecular biology, all aided by advanced data analytic tools. We collaborate closely with people highly skilled in high-throughput screening, protein chemistry, protein modelling, application testing, and bioinformatics.
The successful applicant will participate in development of new enzyme products in the department and will be deeply involved in cross organizational project groups. You will also need to enjoy a busy working day with short and focused deadlines and practical work in the laboratory.
A number of PhD scholarships will be offered at the Department of Physics (DTU Physics) and Department of Energy Conversion and Storage (DTU Energy) in connection with the newly established Catalysis Theory Center and the section for Atomic Scale Modelling and Materials.
The PhD scholarships will focus on:
- Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations combined with machine learning techniques for accelerated/autonomous discovery of clean energy materials, e.g. novel electrocatalysts for sustainable production of fuels and chemicals and next-generation battery materials.
- DFT-based mechanistic analysis and the development of coupled kinetic-transport models of electrochemical processes for the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals
The Centre for Electric Power and Energy (CEE) at the Department of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a 3 year PhD position in using district heating systems as flexible sources in power systems with large amounts of renewables.
This PhD project will study optimal operation of integrated electricity and heat systems. Operation planning and control algorithms will be developed for multi-time-scale operation of the integrated electricity and heat systems.

DTU, The Technical University of Denmark, Department of Management Engineering invites applicants for a 3-year PhD position on “Affective Interaction between New Venture Team members”, starting ideally on 1 September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter in 2018.
The project focuses on understanding the interaction mechanisms underlying performance relevant long-term outcomes in new venture teams, i.e. how a team’s interactions can be used to predict its future success. For this purpose you will conduct a longitudinal panel study with start-up teams. You will analyse the teams using SPAFF coding scheme and follow them intensively for three years.
This includes in-depth qualitative measures about the team (e.g. team climate, team potency) and about the business (e.g. business gestation activities, survival, sales and employment growth).
The Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre (Centre for Oil and Gas – DTU), Technical University of Denmark (DTU), invites applicants for a postdoc or PhD position on crude oil characterization as a part of a larger project relating to enhanced oil recovery mechanisms in the context of advanced water flooding.
The position will be an integrated part of the advanced water flooding and tight reservoir development programmes at the DHRTC with a focus on mapping oil constituents from samples from the Danish North Sea oil fields.
The project will involve work with partner laboratories and with the team in the fluid characterization and recovery processes groups at DHRTC. The position can be defined as a postdoc or a PhD position.
The traditional physical business model has been challenged by digitalization. In order to build a viable digital business model (DBM), firms need to engage their customers digitally via digital means such as websites, mobile devices and data management. The focus of this project is on Danish SMEs that have ambitions and capabilities to create DBM but meanwhile lack a concrete business case (a trigger) and struggle with defining clear action plans (tools). This project aims at providing the trigger and equipping the SMEs with actionable tools.

The Department of Civil Engineering invites applications for a 3-year PhD scholarship in the fields of materials science and climate research, starting from November 1, 2018.
The aim of this project is to develop a modelling framework that enables designers and decision-makers to establish design and maintenance strategies anticipating, mitigating, and adapting to the impacts of climate change on civil infrastructure. To realize the project goal, an interface to translate regional scale climate projection outputs to boundary conditions for material deterioration models will be developed, integrated with state of the art deterioration models, and subsequently used to identify key climate projection outputs driving deterioration of civil infrastructure.

The industrial objective of the project is to develop a fast and efficient process along with an optimum composition for the production of bipolar plates (BPP) used in high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell stacks.
The composition includes a mixture of polymer, conductive fillers and additives. The scientific objectives are to develop a model that can predict physical and mechanical properties of binary and ternary compounds based on the composition.
