Backend Developer – PHP/Symfony
🚀 About the role
In team.blue Denmark – home to DanDomain, ScanNet, and Curanet – we’ve developed a custom CMDB platform that plays a central role in how our Operations Teams manage infrastructure and ensure uptime across thousands of services.
We're now looking for a backend developer to strengthen the platform and expand its API capabilities. You'll join a small, autonomous team where we value work/life balance, continuous learning, and technical ownership.
👩💻 What you'll do
- Build and expand a secure and scalable REST API used by both internal and external systems
- Collaborate with developers and operations engineers who rely on your API daily
- Optimize and modernize our backend codebase and database structures
- Transition legacy systems to modern technologies and best practices
- Work in agile sprints with continuous delivery and peer reviews
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help set direction for future development
🧰 Our tech stack
You’ll be working with:
- PHP 8.x with Symfony 6
- MySQL
- Docker & GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
- Git, Composer, and internal tooling
- REST APIs (and optionally GraphQL in the future)
- Hosting in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)
We are always evolving – and you’ll have a say in how we shape our platform going forward.
✅ What we're looking for
Must-have:
- Experience with modern backend development (3+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of API design (REST) and best practices
- Familiar with secure coding and performance optimization
- Ability to think in systems and contribute to architectural decisions
- A collaborative mindset and experience working in agile teams
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Symfony or similar PHP frameworks
- Familiarity with GraphQL and API versioning strategies
- Understanding of hosting environments, infrastructure, or DevOps practices
- Experience working on internal tooling or platforms like CMDBs
🌍 Language & location
English is our primary language in tech. Danish is a plus, but not a requirement.
We’re open to remote work for the right candidate, though many of us enjoy working from our HQ in Skanderborg in a hybrid setup.
💙 What we offer
At team.blue, we believe great software comes from happy developers. That’s why we offer:
- A positive and relaxed work culture with room to be yourself
- A true work/life balance – with flexible working hours and location
- Explorer Fridays – every other Friday is for personal dev projects or learning
- Opportunities for further education and conferences (e.g. International PHP Conference)
- A fantastic canteen with breakfast, lunch and great coffee ☕
- On-site perks like fitness facilities, massage, and social events
- A flat organizational structure with no office politics
