The Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University, invites applications for a position as PhD fellow of Business Studies (specifically with focus on Finance and Strategy) from 1st of September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position as PhD is limited to a period of 3 years.

The PhD project
Could perceived market uncertainty actually lead to a weaker preference of investors towards responsible investments, thereby increasing cost of capital for companies engaged in green innovation? This problem is novel, has yet to be scientifically documented by researchers, and contradicts current understandings of investor behaviour. It leaves a further open question of how the negative impact of uncertainty can be minimized. The answer to this question is especially relevant when we look at big institutional investors like pension funds. The project will explore this urgent problem, to develop new theoretical insights and propose initial policy recommendations for how the negative impact of the current uncertainties on green investor preferences can be reduced.

The project is co-financed by the Sino-Danish Centre (SDC) and is a double degree PhD program from Roskilde University and the prestigious University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a PhD fellow, you will have supervisors at both universities. As such, this is a great opportunity for someone wanting to embark on an academic career.
