We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a Postdoc position to commence as soon as possible.

The project will research the influence of the tumour microenvironment on cancer progression.

Our research
We focus on understanding how cancer spreads through the body and grows at new sites, as this process (known as metastasis) is responsible for most cancer patient deaths. We take an interdisciplinary approach to answer clinically relevant questions. There is a strong focus on teamwork, diversity, and inclusion within the group. We collaborate with the main hospital in Denmark as well as national and international research groups.

Your job
Your tasks will be to use in vitro and in vivo model systems to investigate the impact of extracellular matrix alterations on cancer progression.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in Biology or similar discipline
  • You are highly experienced in in vivo cancer models
  • You have experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques
  • You have an active interest in the tumour microenvironment
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken
Desirable experience and skills:

  • First author publication from PhD
  • Experience in researching the tumour microenvironment
Place of employment
The place of employment is at Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC), Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen. Terms of employment
The employment as Postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for 1 year. Starting date is as soon as possible.

Salary, pension, and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 38,500 DKK, approx. 5,100 EUR (April 2024 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not been tax liable to Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

The further process
