Rygaards International School invites enthusiastic, dedicated teachers to apply for a maternity cover position, teaching Danish as a Second Language in our International Department.

Are you lively, energetic, and committed? Are you a teacher of Danish as a Second Language? Can you teach Gym – and maybe even Swimming as well? Do you have a desire to become part of the Primary and Secondary Team and join the community spirit of Rygaards? Then you might be just the candidate we are looking for as our new maternity cover.

As our new teacher of Danish as a Second Language, Gym, and Swimming, you will have 27 lessons per week in total. These will be divided as follows:

14 lessons: Teaching Danish as a Second Language to students in Years 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8.

9 lessons: Teaching Gym to primary and secondary students.

4 lessons: Teaching Swimming to students in Year 6 in our International Department, as well as 4. klasse in our Danish Department.

This is a temporary position, starting on August 1, 2024, and ending around April, 2025. Please note that it would be an advantage if you are able to teach all three subjects although accomodation could possibly be made for those applicants who cannot teach swimming. This is a full-time position.

Rygaards is a Catholic school, founded in 1909 by the Assumption sisters. The school has strong ecumenical traditions and values, and we welcome students, families, and employees of all cultures, religions, and backgrounds. Rygaards School has a Danish and an International English-speaking department, each teaching its own separate curriculum. Rygaards International School consists of Key Stages 1–4 (Years 1–11).
