Job Description

The Director of Project Management oversees and manages a team of highly skilled SaaS and ERP Project Managers. Director of Project Management will work closely with Services Sales and Practice Delivery Directors to secure the right level of staffing for all customer projects within the different customer portfolios. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and guidance to a team of project managers, ensuring successful execution and delivery of multiple projects within established timelines and budgets. Oversee and coordinate the resources needed for projects with a defined scope, start and completion point.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Mentor, and manage a team of project managers.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture within the team.
  • Strategic Planning and Oversight:
    • Develop and implement project management strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Set clear project objectives, goals, and execution plans.
    • Ensure alignment of projects with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Resource Allocation and Project Assignment:
    • Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal project delivery.
    • Assign projects to appropriate project managers based on skills, expertise, and workload.
    • Project Management responsibility for individual projects
  • Project Monitoring and Control:
    • Oversee project progress, monitor timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide guidance for issue resolution.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as a point of contact for key stakeholders and sponsors.
    • Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues effectively and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability leading a consulting practice, preferably in managing Project Managers and/or Project Directors.
  • Project manager of multiple IFS implementation projects with customers.
  • Expertise with IFS implementation methodology, tools, and project manager processes in Thor, including, but not limited to: project setup, budget tracking, SoW documentation, change request managements, revenue forecasting, status reporting, invoicing, and month-end financial processes.
  • University education or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Microsoft Project or other project management tools.
  • Strong business acumen, demonstrated commercial awareness, and proven ability to translate client needs into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management.
  • Project management expertise, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Result orientated with a proven ability for managing high-performance teams
  • Used to presenting and inspiring others
  • Capable of making strategic decisions and prioritizing evolving needs and challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain a positive can-do approach to resource conflicts and escalations.
  • Good C-Level communication (both internal and external).
  • Drive disciplines, quality and consistency of performance and process.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, decentralized, geographically and culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple functions and geographical locations often to tight deadlines.
  • Open to travel as needed.
