Category Manager, Global Procurement

Waste shredders from M&J Recycling are in high demand all over the world, and in the role as category manager, you will be responsible for leading, building and developing a category and supporting the operational team.

Based in our head office in Horsens, you will be part of a dedicated team of both category managers and operational purchasers working closely with our colleagues in Projects, Service, planning, and R&D departments.

Your areas of responsibility

You will have a broad contact surface and a versatile job with the following main tasks:

  • Category Management development, including definition of the split on commodity code level
  • Securing all KPI's and targets are achieved at supplier and category level.
  • Selection, qualification, negotiation, contracting and integration of new suppliers.
  • Drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program with current key suppliers
  • Develop and Execute category strategy in alignment with overall procurement and business strategy
  • Drive procurement mid and long planning in collaboration with the full value chain and key stakeholders
  • Secure and increase savings and business satisfaction through Sourcing projects and Supplier Development programs
  • Secure contractual coverage for categories of your responsibility
  • Create a cross functional understanding and commitment to the category strategies and establish effective category communication both internally and externally.
  • Make sure that the operational team is well informed and engaged on supplier level
  • Occasionally support Operational team in order execution process
  • Act as procurement agent and single point of contact for business

Our expectations of you

As an ideal candidate you hold a degree in either Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance/Accounting, Sales/Marketing, or Engineering with minimum 5 years of work experience within Strategic Purchasing, and you possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation and contracts management skills
  • Category management experience
  • Direct Procurement experience from production company
  • Excellent communication skills including fluent in Danish and English (orally and in writing)
  • Good understanding of the value chain in engineering and project companies
  • Proven record of solid stakeholder management skills
  • Strong skills in MS Office programs
  • Financial and IT understanding
  • Strong methodical skills with a natural motivation for detailed analysis
  • Good technical understanding (ability to learn)
  • Team player with a holistic and positive mindset
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to travel approx 40-60 days annually
