Satellite Surveillance Team Lead for MDSI

Do you want to make a real difference? Global security and stability are under pressure, and surveillance of the Arctic region is a top priority.

MDSI is looking for a lead to run a team of satellite image analysts. In this position, you will have a central role in satellite surveillance of the Danish Arctic region.

Tasks

Tasks will include overseeing a team of analysts making sure that events of interest are detected and reported with 24/7/365 coverage, as well as participating in the image analysis. You will also be building and expanding the team.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience
  • An education and/or experience within GIS, Remote Sensing or other relevant areas is a plus, but not a requirement. Training will be provided.
  • Experience with 24/7/365 operational planning of a team is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Must hold or be able to obtain security clearance (MDSI will apply on your behalf)

Personal Characteristics

  • You have personal drive, take initiative and ownership
  • You are structured and detail oriented
  • You are good at recognizing patterns and thinking outside the box
  • You are interested in areas like Geospatial Analysis, Remote Sensing, AI and Satellite Surveillance

We Offer

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team assisting the Danish Defence in the surveillance of the Arctic Region. You will be able to develop skills in team management while at the same time helping the Danish Defence secure the Arctic region through vessel detection, oil spill monitoring and search and rescue operations. You will receive training and support from our partner company who have decades of experience with satellite surveillance.

About MDSI ApS

Using our deep knowledge of defence operations, MDSI specialize in developing high-tech equipment and capabilities. Since 2019, MDSI has been part of an multinational collaboration focused on providing surveillance (e.g. vessel and oil spill detection) in the Arctic. Based on this experience we are establishing a satellite image analysis center in Copenhagen.

We are currently a staff of 15 but we expect to grow and welcome five new people to our team before new year.
