About Biomason and the project:

Biomason is actively putting sustainability within the construction sector on the agenda. We are world leading in producing plant-friendly, biological cement of high quality and integrity corresponding the concrete you normally know of. We are eliminating the need to emit carbon in cement production and thereby curing the disease instead of treating the symptoms. Biomason biocement® will reduce 25% of carbon emission from the global concrete industry by 2030. We do this by focusing on the use of microorganisms in the production of our biocement®.

The position:

Our Engineer Systems Design is responsible for developing and implementing the design, specification, commissioning and support of prototype and industrial automation equipment and data systems. In other words, being able to bring creativity into problem-solving is a must for this position. You will design the processes and subsequently design the tests to evaluate the processes as well as analyze test data. You provide continuous improvement for existing manufacturing systems and support equipment installation, qualification and documentation. All of this you will do working together with colleagues both on location in Denmark as well as remotely located at Biomason headquarters in the US.

You will also:

  • Estimate project budgets and scopes
  • Identify root cause to produce effective solutions to emerging problems and modify designs to meet requirements and eliminate malfunctions
  • Write technical documentation, including Equipment SOPs for operators
  • Cooperate with Biomason project managers to transfer technology to new sites/factories
  • Be part of a close-knit team consisting of 8 people, but have full support from the rest of the US based Engineering team

In this position you directly report to the Senior Manager of Systems Engineering and work collaboratively with R&D, Systems Engineering and External Parter/integrator teams.

What we are looking for:

We expect you to hold some sort of education within the field of Engineering. Preferably you have a minimum of 3 years of experience in automated fluidic or conveyance industrial systems. As a lot of the tasks involve designing the systems, we also imagine you have experience with 3D CAD software like Autodesk Inventor and suite. Ideally you have competencies in Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Static and Dynamic Loading, Thermodynamics and Materials Science for informing system design.

On a personal level we expect you to be a team player. You work proactively, structured and have great communication skills. You thrive with responsibility and can manage data collection and documentation of large quantities. We hope that you are eager to learn and be part of our exiting project.
