INEOS Energy
Virum

Senior Production Technology Engineer

Do you want to play a key part in the safe and efficient production of oil and gas from INEOS’s fields in the Danish North Sea? Can you see yourself playing an important part in the global energy transition by being a key member in our pioneering team working on CO2 storage in the underground?

We are looking for a production technologist to be part of our subsurface engineering team that mainly works on supporting the oil producing fields in the North Sea. The position will also be oriented towards production technology support for design and planning of CO2 injection wells. The job therefore involves the more conventional production technology tasks related to oil and gas production but also offers interesting development opportunities within the emerging CO2 storage industry where you will have the opportunity to shape the future of CO2 storage.

About the job

The job involves all the classic aspects of production technology, including gas lift design and optimization, well performance studies and identification of well interventions for production improvement. You will work on existing producing wells but also give input to development wells planned either in existing producing fields or undeveloped areas. With the emerging area of CO2 injection and storage there will be novel production technology work related to the design and operation of CO2 injection wells, including thermal effects that play a bigger role than normal and transient effects related to cyclic injection. As our production technology resource within CO2 injection, you will be involved in defining and shaping the future CO2 injection technology.

A self-driven team player with industry experience

In our subsurface team, you will be part of a highly dedicated team of production technologists, reservoir engineers, and geoscientists. The team is dynamic and with a deep integration across the disciplines and the working culture is open for discussions and cooperation. Experience with the following (or similar) software is an advantage:

  • Prosper, Gap, Mbal
  • OLGA
  • Netool
  • WellCad

Insights into metallurgic aspects of well design and corrosion processes will also be an advantage.

A candidate for this position should have a relevant engineering or science background and industry experience within the field of production technology.
