The role

As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring we source quality goods and services at the most competitive terms and conditions. You'll work closely with different departments to understand their needs, find qualified vendors, negotiate contracts and to some extend, place orders and track deliveries.

To be successful as a Purchasing Specialist, you'll need a blend of analytical skills, strong communication, and a keen eye for detail. To secure the most favourable agreement, you will need to apply strong negotiation skills, technical understanding, and a holistic mindset.

The position is new, why you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape and develop the role and responsibilities, as you and the company evolves. The position is part of the procurement department and will report to the Procurement Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Research suppliers of goods and services
  • Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchasing terms and conditions
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
  • Qualification and auditing of suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements

Skills, abilities, and knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive working relationships
  • 3+ years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred
  • Superb communication and negotiation skills
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Well organized team player
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English language
