Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)

The British Embassy Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing UK's political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are currently recruiting a student to join out Department for Business & Trade (DBT).

You will join our dynamic DBT team at the British Embassy in Copenhagen.

Our DBT team helps UK businesses export and grow into the Danish market and assists overseas companies locate and grow in the UK.

What will you be expected to achieve?

During the internship, you will gain insight into and become actively involved in a variety of interesting areas related to trade and investment such as:

  • Market research and business development.
  • Sector & opportunity mapping.
  • Responding to Business enquires - Supporting UK companies to grow internationally.
  • Accelerating UK & DK involvement in priority campaigns for Clean Growth & Technology.
  • Event management.
  • Stakeholder engagement.
  • Some overseas travel may be required.

Future projects earmarked for 2024 will enable the successful candidate to work across a number of exciting activities connected to our Growing Green Together Campaign.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

What will you bring to the role?

  • The DBT team is looking to recruit a determined, self-sufficient, enterprising and result-oriented individual who is driven by an interest in business & trade.
  • We are looking for commercial flair, strong interpersonal skills, excellent English C1 level communication skills and the ability to deliver across a range of sectors and activities.
  • You must be enrolled in a European University programme for the whole duration of the internship.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

It would be good to have (desirable):

  • B2 level Danish.
