Bioinformatician for WGS data analysis in the field of AMR - DTU Food

Do you have experience with whole genome sequencing (WGS) data quality control and analysis from bacterial isolates? Are you also interested in genomics and antimicrobial resistance (AMR)?

As our new colleague, your primary areas of responsibility will include to:

• Construct and maintain pipelines on a HPC cluster and extend the current ones for short read technology (Illumina) to include long read technology (Oxford Nanopore)
• Handle and analyse WGS (long and short read technologies) and metagenomics (occasionally) data
• Organize data analysis, write reports/manuscripts and produce plots summarizing main findings

PhD scholarship in microbiome synthetic biology and cancer cachexia - DTU Biosustain

If you are interested in developing new therapeutic options for a devastating cancer-associated disease, then these positions may be relevant for you.

The two PhD students will work together on developing and testing advanced microbiome therapeutics, that modulate appetite and inflammation. In particular, the candidates will work on

1. The development of relevant in vitro models of cachexia
2. Engineering of probiotic strains, including S. boulardii and E. coli Nissle for production of therapeutically active drugs with potential to improve gut barrier integrity, regulate appetite and nutrient uptake.

DTU Bioengineering is seeking to employ a scientific team leader who will be responsible for the continued development, organization, research management, and daily running of the molecular biology laboratory within Enzyme Discovery and Enzyme Technology in the Protein Chemistry and Enzyme Technology Section at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine at DTU.

PhD scholarship in In Situ Fabrication of Quantum Emitters in Hexagonal Boron Nitride – DTU Nanolab

The aim of this interdisciplinary project is to connect in situ fabrication of atomic scale quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride using focused electron beam irradiation with their structural characterization using broad beam illumination and finally correlate this information the optical emission properties.Tasks:

• Prepare exfoliated few-layer sheets of hexagonal boron nitride on suitable substrates
• Create quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride using electron/ion irradiation engineering
• Establish robust protocols for creation and electron-beam characterization of atomic-scale structure anomalies

Application Scientist – Biology and aquaculture

You will be responsible for application studies and experiments related to our aquaculture products. Work tasks will be related to guiding and managing efficacy studies with a variety of disease targets. This is done both as in-house experiments and via collaborative and contract research work.

Work will also include collaboration with external advisors and customers to optimize formulation and usage of our products to achieve optimal efficacy.
