Senior Electrical Engineer, Technical Lead

Frederikshavn

Do you have a strong electrical background and are you motivated by technical leadership and the opportunity to help shape the construction of Denmark’s new Arctic ships? As Senior Electrical Engineer, Technical Lead at Semco Maritime, you will take ownership of the electrical installation scope in a nationally significant naval project.

Your position

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with design, procurement, fabrication, and quality control. You will help turn technical requirements and design into practical, high-quality installation solutions and ensure efficient production throughout all phases of shipbuilding, in compliance with naval and classification standards. The final title will depend on your experience and qualifications.

Your work will have a direct impact on the successful delivery of the Arctic ships and on the continued development of the Danish naval shipbuilding industry.

The position will be based in Frederikshavn, where the Arctic ships will be assembled, and is a full-time, permanent position.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As Senior Electrical Engineer, Technical Lead you will plan, coordinate, and lead the electrical installation scope throughout ship production, ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, suppliers, and production teams.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Defining and planning electrical installation methods from design through production, including installation sequencing, equipment installation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Participating in the production engineering process to support quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Supporting the development of electrical discipline project plans and resource estimates
  • Lead parts of the installations scope when in construction
  • Acting as the technical point of contact internally and with suppliers for electrical and instrumentation matters
  • Providing technical input to procurement and defining requirements for electrical installation equipment and tools
  • Ensuring compliance with naval, military, and classification standards as well as health, safety, and environmental requirements

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and responsible engineer who can act as lead by combining strong technical understanding with hands-on problem-solving skills.

You work in a structured and quality-focused way, communicate clearly across disciplines, and bring high personal integrity and strong safety awareness.

Even if you do not meet all the desired experience requirements, we encourage you to apply if you believe you are a talented individual with the right mindset, strong motivation, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role

To succeed in this role, we expect that you have:

  • A BSc or MSc in marine or electrical engineering
  • Solid experience in shipbuilding, heavy industry or offshore projects (oil and gas / wind)
  • Min. 5 years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with international classification rules, such as DNV or ABS
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Danish language skills
  • Knowledge of naval or defence standards would be an advantage
