Demant in Ballerup is the global competence center for microelectronics and the main production site for amplifiers used in Demant’s hearing aids. We strive to obtain a state-of-the-art production setup and use the latest technology, enabling us to produce world-class amplifiers.

Our current Purchasing Specialist is after a long career retiring, why we are looking for a new colleague to join our workforce doing operational purchasing.

The Global Amplifiers Purchasing Team

You will join a team of four people, each working with different suppliers and managing wide portfolio of Electrocomponents used in our production.

You will be based in Denmark, working from our site in Ballerup, but you will also be an active part of our purchasing team in Poland.

Your manager is Monika Iwanicka-Dąbrowska, Senior Manager, GA Purchasing, Planning & Purchasing SMD. Like the rest of the team, Monika has a big motivation for this field and will be a good sparring partner to you.

As Monica is based in Poland your daily host in Ballerup will be Louise Ottesen, Director, Supply Chain.

About the job

As a Purchasing Specialist, you ensure the day-to-day operation of purchases to ensure components availability for production sites in Danmark and Poland.

You will be responsible for procurement of electronic components, including PCBs, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and integrated circuits, in accordance with production requirements utilizing the ERP system.

You will collaborate closely with different teams to assure best results in securing components for amplifiers mass production.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Create purchase orders in ERP system (QAD) for our suppliers.
  • Manage supplier relationships under a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) framework.
  • Partner with Category Managers to align supplier setup and strategy.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and materials through close supplier contact and follow-up.
  • Handle order and delivery confirmations as well as potential quantity, price deviations in deliveries.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders (production, warehouse, quality, finance) to ensure correct procurement and delivery.
  • Maintain master data in the ERP system (items, suppliers, delivery conditions- VMI or standard purchase orders, safety stocks, reorder points, order quantities, MOQ, etc.) to maintain optimal components stock level.
  • Follow-up on supplier performance according to the internal procedure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of purchasing processes and optimization of the supply chain.

As the job is onsite Ballerup, it is important you can start here from day one. We have a flexible work setup and working from home is possible.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • 2-3 years of experience from a similar role within operational purchasing, supply chain, logistics or similar. Previous experience in sourcing electronic components will be considered an advantage.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Ability to work in a structured and detail-oriented manner with a focus on deadlines.
  • Good communication skills for collaboration across the organization and suppliers.
  • High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Solution-oriented and able to maintain an overview.
