Join Xellia Pharmaceuticals and play a crucial role in advancing healthcare by fighting serious infections. At Xellia, every position directly contributes to improving and saving patient lives.

Lead change. Create impact. Shape the future.

We’re transforming how procurement drives our business — and we’re looking for a leader who thrives on both strategy and execution. As our new Senior Manager, Direct Procurement, you’ll combine hands-on category management with team and stakeholder leadership, ensuring our supply of raw materials and direct services is secure, cost-effective, and future-ready.

If you’re energized by complexity, motivated by impact, and ready to be both a doer and a leader, this is your chance to make a difference.

As Senior Manager, you will take ownership of categories such as raw materials, solvents, reagents, gases, resins, manufacturing services, and lab testing. You’ll drive category strategies, manage critical supplier relationships, and ensure smooth operations across our supply chain — while also guiding and developing a team of procurement professionals. You will report to the Chief Procurement Officer.

Xellia is undergoing a company-wide transformation, and Direct Procurement is central to that journey. I’m looking for someone who thrives in change, combines leadership with hands-on drive, and wants to make a real impact.

Guillermo Gimeno, Chief Procurement Officer

Be part of transformative change at Xellia

At Xellia Pharmaceuticals, we are not just committed to combating infections; we are also dedicated to transforming our operations to meet the future needs of healthcare. We are on a journey to strengthen our procurement function — and we’re looking for proactive, collaborative professionals who are eager to drive that change.

Your new team

You’ll join our Global Procurement organization during a period of exciting transformation. Based in Copenhagen, you will work closely with colleagues in both Copenhagn and Budapest and with stakeholders across other global sites. Expect some travel to meet stakeholders, suppliers, and your team.

Your role and responsibilities

This role combines strategic leadership with operational impact. Half of your time will be spent leading your team and influencing senior stakeholders, while the other half will be dedicated to category management and supplier negotiations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Secure and sustain supply of direct materials for API production and R&D.
  • Develop and execute global category strategies and supplier relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-country procurement team.
  • Drive complex negotiations, cost optimization, and value creation.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across functions to ensure proactive solutions.

Every material you source and every partnership you strengthen has a direct impact on Xellia and our purpose to save patients’ lives. That’s what makes this role so meaningful.

Guillermo

What we’re looking for

You combine strong procurement expertise with the ability to lead and collaborate across borders and further we expect:

  • A relevant Master’s degree and 5–10 years’ procurement experience (pharma or manufacturing preferred).
  • Proven expertise in direct procurement categories and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Solid knowledge of supply chain/manufacturing environments (GxP a plus).
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.

In short, this role is about securing supply today while shaping procurement for tomorrow. As manager for Direct Procurement, you’ll combine hands-on category management with leadership of people and stakeholders — making a real impact on both our supply chain and Xellia’s transformation journey. If you see yourself in this, we’d very much like to hear from you.

Are you interested?

Please apply with your CV no later than October 5. We will be reviewing applications and interviewing candidates on an ongoing basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Chief Procurement Officer, Guillermo Gimeno, at guillermo.gimeno@xellia.com
