Your main tasks and responsibilities

As our new Customs Specialist, your role is central to ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality customs operations across Denmark. The position carries responsibility for strengthening and developing the customs function while driving both operational excellence and commercial opportunities.

The role works closely with colleagues in operations, IT, and sales, as well as with external authorities and partners. You will oversee and manage all customs-related activities to ensure compliance with Danish and EU regulations.

  • Optimize and automate customs clearance processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement digital customs solutions
  • Train and support internal teams on customs regulations and best practices
  • Handle audits and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities
  • Advise clients within E-com and high-end customers in cooperation with sales
  • Develop strategy to commercialize customs services, creating revenue through value-added offerings
  • Identify market opportunities and potential clients that require customs expertise.
  • Engage with key customers to showcase our customs capabilities and improve retention
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and changes in customs regulations that could impact our business

Your key competencies and experience for success in this role

  • Extensive experience in customs operations, compliance, and risk management within freight forwarding or logistics
  • Strong knowledge of Danish and EU customs regulations, with established contacts to customs authorities and brokers
  • Experience in risk management to ensure regulatory compliance and avoid penalties.
  • Proven ability to optimize and digitalize customs processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance
  • Experience working with customs-related tenders and large trade agreements.
  • Commercial mindset with experience developing and monetizing customs-related services
  • Excellent communication skills in Danish and English, written and spoken
