Two RAM Expert positions in DSBs Large-Scale Procurement programs

Ikon: Pil
  • Do you want to help ensure the quality and robustness of systems that enable DSBs future trains?
  • Do you get energy from working with reliability, availability and maintainability in complex technological projects?

DSB is looking for two Experienced RAM experts for the Future S-Network Program and the New Trains Program.

You will play a key role in monitoring and improving reliability and availability in our large train and infrastructure programs. Become a part of an international specialist team working for a greener and more efficient public transport.

Welcome to the RAM team

As part of the RAM team, you will join a specialist unit under the STARS organization (Strategy & Rolling Stock Asset Realization Support), which consists of around 130 skilled colleagues who are working on procuring DSB's future fleet.

The RAM team works across several major programs, including the New Trains Program (IC5) and the Future S-Network Program. We focus on ensuring high availability and reliability of the trains and systems that support train operations, which is essential for the passengers' travel experience.

We are an international team with colleagues from Greenland, France, India, Iceland and Denmark. We meet regularly to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and find solutions to the challenges that arise across our programs.

As a RAM specialist, you will have a central role in performance monitoring within the supplier's maintenance setup, where your work will be pivotal to the operation and performance of Denmark's future national fleet and S trains.

You get the opportunity to design and implement the future of green transportation in Denmark. You will become part of a skilled team working with RAM, sharing knowledge and supporting each other with professional challenges.

Freedom and influence in your work, along with the opportunity to solve complex problems. The RAM team is international and diverse, with a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing

says Niels Anders, Senior RAMS & Maintenance Manager

Your future project

For both positions, you will be seated in a project, where we collaborate with colleagues who are specialized in subjects, such as design, engineering, maintenance, contract management, IT, and quality management.

You will contribute to the high quality and robustness of the selected maintenance model and contract, which include integrated KPIs for relevant performance requirements - particularly those related to reliability and availability.

Position 1 – S-Network Program: Starting 2025
You will join the Future S-Network program as part of the Supporting Systems project. The project is currently in tender phase and will enter the design phase mid-2026.

It will deploy thousands of electronic and computer-based equipment in all S-Network stations and in the traffic control centers, all connected through a dedicated fiber network. Our primary task is to ensure that the suppliers deliver well-functioning systems and maintenance, enabling driverless operation.

Position 2 – New Trains program: Starting 2026
You will join the IC5 Program, in the New Trains project team, where 150 new IC5 trains will be delivered to DSB, from 2027 by Alstom.

The project is currently in the production, validation and verification phase. Our primary task is to ensure that the supplier delivers well-functioning trains and maintenance.

Your tasks

Your tasks will include:

  • Review and assess RAM documentation provided by the supplier.
  • Ensure proper implementation of methods and processes for monitoring failure rate, reliability in systems and operations.
  • Acting as a liaison between the project and the supplier to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Follow up on performance and RAM targets when systems are put into operation and contribute to consistency across the projects in the program.

Are you one of our new experienced RAM Experts?

For both positions you need to have extensive experience as stipulated below on the areas of reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM).

You work in a structured, consistent and convincing manner. You can collaborate with other disciplines and work independently when required.

You thrive on navigating complex issues and deliver high quality in your solutions. You are motivated by both long-term strategic goals and short-term results and prioritize creating strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

  • A relevant education as an engineer or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in technical disciplines, especially reliability and availability (FMECA, FTA, RBD, FRACAS).
  • Experience within operation of trains will be an advantage
  • A broad multi-technical understanding

Position 1 – S-Network Program: Starting 2025

  • Experience with system engineering, especially within OT and IT systems

Position 2 – New Trains program: Starting 2026

  • Experience with maintenance, especially with rolling stock.

What will DSB offer you?

  • Free transportation with DSB
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home a few days a week
  • Access to DSB's gym and PureGym
  • Pension plan and health insurance
  • Subsidized lunch scheme and the opportunity to buy food to take home
