Karen Marie Tybjerg., Packaging Optimisation Director

How you will make an impact

Your tasks consist of identifying, optimising, and implementing profitable and functional packaging solutions for designated products. This means you will have close contact with packaging innovation, Product Management, and the relevant dairies.

In close collaboration with your colleagues, you will:

  • Take lead in sharing best practice within cost-saving initiatives on packaging.
  • Take lead in coordinating activities across countries on a specific packaging type and towards the supplier.
  • Support operations and logistics by specifying and reporting line and transit trials for packaging when implementing new materials or investment projects.
  • Ensure smooth handover of packaging projects to daily operations responsible.
  • Act as packaging advisor to the business.
  • Ensure documentation for packaging is obtained and maintained in the database.

Moreover, you stay informed of the latest trends and development on relevant packaging materials.

This role sits within the global Packaging Optimisation team and is a permanent position based in Aarhus.

What will make you successful

You have a Master’s degree as engineer within packaging, mechanics, chemistry, or equivalent. Ideally, you have worked with packaging development for at least 1–3 years and are familiar with the special requirements for food contact material. The combination of theory and practice has given you solid knowledge of material capability and testing, as well as insight into the latest trends within packaging material.

Key personal qualities for success in this job:

  • Enterprising and persistent: You don’t give up until you have solved the challenge.
  • Innovative and technical mindset: You are professional and well-informed.
  • Strong cooperation skills: You thrive both working independently and within teams with colleagues and suppliers.

What do we offer?

You will join a team that values development, working together to deliver sustainable and competitive packaging solutions. At Arla, we’re committed to professional development and promoting from within. Our positive and collaborative culture will bring out the best in you. And you’ll join a market leader who produces nutritious household-favourite brands in a way that makes things better for our customers, the farmers who own us, and the whole world.

Would you like to join us?

If you want to facilitate innovation and help shape the industry, then seize this exciting opportunity. Please apply as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the right candidate is found.
