Hardware Developer to join SKOV R&D

The team

You will become part of our HW and Core SW organization within R&D, focusing on all hardware-related areas. This includes cooperation with Product Management, internal specialists, partners, procurement, and customer support. You will join a team of 4 innovative hardware developers and be responsible for the platform foundation on which we build our products. Our ways of working are based on agile methods and Scrum planning, and you will have an active role in all the team's tasks

Your role and tasks

  • Participate in teams with other talented developers and experts working on further development and maintenance of our existing portfolio of fans used for chickens, pigs, dairy, and insects, where we work with AC-motors (1 and 3-phase, <480VAC, <4kW), PM-motors (3-phase,<4kW), PM-motor drives (1 and 3-phase, <480VAC, <4kW) and actuators(24VDC, <6000Nm).
  • Performing hardware support for the other teams/groups in the development department and within the company, incl. a few travel days to end users/customers.
  • Product development through the complete life cycle:
    • New concepts – higher performance - lower energy consumption – lower product cost
    • Analyze and specify design/development
    • Internal development and/or close cooperation with partners, sub-suppliers, external specialists, and knowledge institutions
    • Production maturing, including preparation of production-related documentation and solving design-related production challenges
    • Lab test, field test, and follow-up with the customers
    • Product test and system test
    • Regulatory requirements/directives/approvals - general and local
    • Provide technical input and review of product documentation for installer and end-user.

To be a success, we imagine that you:

  • Have an educational background within HW, electronics, or something similar, with at least 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing company
  • Experience with specification, development, and testing of HW at the product and system level
  • Knowledge – or desire to acquire competencies - within basic motor technologies and concepts Preferably, knowledge of basic mains power topologies and issues
  • Are a quality- and result-oriented person for whom hardware development is a passion Have experience from participation in and implementing development projects.
  • Can work as an independent, thorough, quality-conscious, and results-oriented person with the ability and the will to cooperate internally and externally
  • Thrive working in smaller teams, and you find it easy to collaborate with our English-speaking colleagues worldwide.
