What you will be doing
As our new Business Developer, you will help to grow and expand our business within one or more of our business segments and to support operational tasks of strategic importance.
The essence of the job is to identify and solve our customers’ challenges by turning their current and future needs into innovative, value driven solutions. The job requires you to gain understanding of how our customers operate, their needs, our competitors’ offerings and the market drivers across industries, countries, and regions. In addition, it is important that you are good at communicating your work to stakeholders in the organization.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Develop and follow-up on business segment strategies in alignment with the commercial owner
- Identify and pitch early-stage business opportunities in close collaboration with customers, partners, and FOSS colleagues across the company
- Follow market trends and industry insights, including competitor assessment
- Support on portfolio & product life cycle management, to ensure growth and competitiveness
- Manage the initial stages of new product development to ensure solutions are rooted in customer needs and hereby bring maximum value for the customer
- Be responsible for and follow-up on new product development project business cases throughout our phase-gate process to ensure profit, revenue and cost targets are met
- Support M&A activities with industry & competitor analyses and segment strategy
You will be part of the Business Development team which is one of three teams in the Business Innovation organization. Here, we are more than 30 colleagues working together across the three teams, Analytics Development, Business Development and Concept Design. Together, we drive the early stages of our product development and work together in small teams.

- Master’s degree in either economics, commercial or technical discipline combined with some years of experience working with innovation, marketing, or sales of technical products
- Experience with strategy and business development in a B2B environment

- Experience with product and portfolio management
- A well-developed ability to understand both commercial and technical aspects of our business – across various business segments
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Good English skills - both written and orally
- Experience within food or agricultural related industries
