Director Land and Air Business Development

Your Role

Are you a dynamic and strategic thinker with a passion for forging meaningful connections and driving business growth? As our Director of Land and Air Business Development, you will be at the forefront of expanding Saab’s footprint in the Danish Defence market. Working closely with your colleagues in Denmark and the Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our order intake targets and long-term business objectives. Your mission will be to identify new opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, stakeholder management and ensure our sustained success in the region.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Crafting and executing innovative business strategies to enhance Saab’s market presence in Denmark and neighbouring countries
• Building and nurturing strong, lasting relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders with focus on the Land and Air Domain
• Act as the Customer Sales Responsible on business opportunities within the Land and Air Domain
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities accommodating Saab’s strategic goal of expanding our footprint in Denmark. Representing Saab at industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities
• Collaborating with the Country Manager and global business units to achieve strategic goals
• Driving country-specific business development initiatives and improving processes
• Acting as a crucial link between the customer, Saab Global Business Development and other entities within our global organisation to ensure successful outcomes

Your Profile

We are seeking a visionary executive with a proven track record in navigating complex business environments and building enduring relationships. You thrive in an international setting and possess a deep understanding of the Danish defence, the defence industry and procurement processes. Your strong business acumen and ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relations will be instrumental to your success in this role.

To excel in this position, you likely have:

• Relevant academic and/or military education preferably within the Land and/or Air Domain
• Strong network within the Armed forces of Denmark, Ministry of Defence and/or at political level
• Experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within an international environment
• Exceptional negotiation, influence, and leadership skills to drive business initiatives forward
• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in both Danish and English
• Solid understanding of the Danish culture, public procurement processes, and the defence sector
• Proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to lead initiatives from strategy to execution
• Ability to conduct meetings with stakeholders on short notice, primarily in the Copenhagen area
• Willingness to travel domestically and abroad (up to 30 days annually)
• Eligible to obtain security clearance (NATO secret)

This position will be based in Denmark and you will be reporting to the Country Manager.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
