The job
We are looking for a Software Development Manager for one of our software development teams. You will be reporting to the Director of Digital Solutions and will be responsible for continues development of our software across instrument software and cloud offerings.
Your primary role is to work with the team of skilled developers, to design and deliver the functionality fit for our customers, as well as driving continuous improvements forward in the team. You will be working closely together with many other engineering disciplines, as we are a true interdisciplinary engineering company.
You will be based at FOSS’ Innovation Center in Hillerød, working closely with internal stakeholders in both R&D, Service, Production & Supply chain, and Marketing amongst others. Additionally, you are strong in handling external stakeholders and communication.
You will be responsible for the continued development of the team, driving efficiency through AI tools, automation of processes and ensuring the right level of competencies and development. All to support our next innovations, while keeping an eye on our foundation and platforms. You will be involved in projects - from early business identification and concept development through customer trials to launch and market implementation. Additionally, you will be involved in project reporting and closely working with our Programs organization. To balance the job, you hence need a sound understanding of:
- Hands-on experience leading use of AI in the full software development cycle to secure our continued position as market leader
- Importance of customer needs to support projects and ensure clear designs are ready based on requirements and product specifications from customer insights
- Stakeholder management and communication to support projects and clear allocations
- Ensure focus on product quality
In addition to supporting new products and projects, your responsibilities include:
- Ensure team competencies are balanced to fit current and future developments
- Ensure the wellbeing, motivation, and performance of your team
- Have a genuine and personal interest in evolution of software development
Who are you?
We expect that you join us with:
- 2-5 years of experience in people management of software development in complex organizations
- A strong technical background (e.g., Engineer, MSc, or equivalent)
- Genuine interest and personal experience with use of AI
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong facilitation capabilities and a drive to nurture productive collaborations
- You are curious, self-driven, and eager to understand our customers’ businesses to create impactful software where we understand our customers’ needs.
- You thrive on solving complex problems and developing improvements with clear business outcomes.
- While being a strong leader, you understand that leadership is balance between conviction and self-insight, and that you are never done learning.
You are structured and possess a “get up and go” attitude. Your ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively is key to your success.
