The Director, Global Trade Compliance is responsible for advancing how Radiometer approaches trade compliance — ensuring Radiometer remains compliant in an increasingly dynamic global business environment AND identifying and driving strategic opportunities to optimize costs. To meet this mandate, the Director will lead the modernization of Radiometers’ trade compliance processes, moving Radiometer from analog to automated, and establishing Radiometer as a recognized leader in trade compliance.
Own and execute the global trade compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to all import/export regulations while reinforcing a culture of “performance AND compliance” across the Radiometer Global Supply Chain organization .
Serve as the primary liaison with customs authorities and relevant regulators; integrate trade compliance risks into Radiometer’s enterprise risk management processes and proactively communicate exposure, mitigation plans, and business impact to leadership..
Drive comprehensive trade compliance audit and monitoring programs to identify and countermeasure program gaps and identify process improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement comprehensive compliance training programs that ensure regulatory awareness and expertise throughout the organization.
Drive adoption of trade compliance technologies and automation in classification, licensing, valuation, and auditing workflows to improve scalability, accuracy, and decision speed. g.
Optimize duty structures and valuation methodologies, and program utilization (e.g., FTA, special programs, drawback, etc.) to minimize landed cost while maintaining full regulatory compliance..
Design, coach, and develop a network of trade compliance subject matter experts and country Trade champions to support Radiometers’ global footprint ensuring sustainable capability and succession depth. You will lead a small team of two associates.
BS/BA and 10+ years leading global trade compliance programs and teams in metric/KPI-driven global manufacturing organizations (medical device manufacturing or other highly-regulated sectors preferred).
Deep subject matter expertise in global import/export regulations, with demonstrated ability to explain complex trade compliance concepts to senior business leaders and handle Q&A.
Proven record of progressive responsibility, delivering results through others, building cross-functional partnerships, and influencing decision-making in large, matrixed organizations.
Strong analytical mindset with experience using data, KPIs, and risk assessments to solve problems, prioritize work, and drive continuous improvement in compliance and operational performance.
Demonstrated commitment to ethics, transparency, accountability, and a compliance-first culture while enabling business success.
Advanced degree in International Business, Trade, Law, or related field; MBA or JD preferred.
Professional certifications in trade compliance or customs law.
Global travel required (~10%, flexible).
