Are you ready to define how we work with meta data globally? And do you want to implement our governance and risk tooling (GRC) – beginning with our very first business glossary, which will connect you with vital stakeholders in IT as well as the rest of our business?

Then join us and become the owner of meta data at the world’s leading player in the field of logistics and transportation.

You will build our core competencies from scratch, which gives you the opportunity to track all the change that you will create throughout our entire business,

Senior Manager, Data Management and Governance, Søren Kai Christensen

Join an inclusive team with a massive impact

You will join the Data Management & Governance team within Enterprise Data Excellence, where our aim is to unlock the full potential of data at an enterprise level. This means that we are responsible for data management and governance within DSV as a corporation.

The team consists of 8 colleagues today, but we are also recruiting 2 other senior product managers for data quality and reference data, respectively. We are a diverse group in terms of nationality, seniority and professional backgrounds – and we excel at using this to our advantage.

We value and welcome different perspectives and we appreciate that every one of us adds something unique

You own our meta data from strategy to execution

Your first step will be to create our new strategy for meta data. Once the strategy is approved by executive management, it will be your job ensure its execution. By owning the entire product roadmap, you will create continuous progress – on your own and in collaboration with key stakeholders, like our Master Data team.

Representing metadata as a knowledge area, you will participate in building our Enterprise Data Platform (internally called our EDP programme). Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with our business units to facilitate change.

Some of your tasks will be to:

  • Define and own the enterprise-wide Metadata Strategy, establishing how DSV structures, governs, and operationalises metadata across systems, domains, and business processes globally
  • Translate metadata needs and use cases into executable change initiatives, prioritising the roadmap, defining requirements, and ensuring consistent delivery across EDP and business stakeholders
  • Implement business cases within our GRC tool like our first business glossary and digitalisation of our event catalogue
  • Engage relevant business and IT stakeholders in creating data standards, defining requirements based on their various needs and converting the requirements into change initiatives
  • Ensure that our models align with metadata governance standards and stay abreast of best practices within the industry

You master metadata and stakeholder management

You have an unwavering focus on moving things forward – but you know that true progress can only happen when all the stakeholders involved are aligned and motivated. Therefore, you make it a priority to bridge the various opinions, and you know how to navigate when they differ.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have a minimum of 4-7 years of experience working with metadata and a keen understanding of its implementation
  • Have a formal education in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, or Business – experience with GRC platforms or enterprise metadata tools considered a strong advantage
  • Bring strong expertise in metadata management frameworks, including business glossaries, data dictionaries, lineage, classification, ownership, and lifecycle management, ideally in a large-scale or federated organisation.
  • Have excellent stakeholder and change management skills, with the ability to bridge competing viewpoints, influence decision-making, and drive consensus across distributed teams.
