The job

We are looking for a Software Development Manager for one of our software development teams. You will be reporting to the Director of Digital Solutions and will be responsible for continues development of our software across instrument software and cloud offerings.

Your primary role is to work with the team of skilled developers, to design and deliver the functionality fit for our customers, as well as driving continuous improvements forward in the team. You will be working closely together with many other engineering disciplines, as we are a true interdisciplinary engineering company.

You will be based at FOSS’ Innovation Center in Hillerød, working closely with internal stakeholders in both R&D, Service, Production & Supply chain, and Marketing amongst others. Additionally, you are strong in handling external stakeholders and communication.

You will be involved in the setting up new software projects - from early business identification and concept development through customer trials to launch and market implementation. Additionally, you will be involved in project reporting and closely working with our Programs organization. To balance the job, you hence need a sound understanding of:

  • Importance of customer needs to support projects in clear requirements and product specifications based on customer insights
  • Stakeholder management and communication to support project progress • Supporting product quality
  • Emerging software technologies and use of AI to secure our continued position as market leader

In addition to supporting new products and project, your responsibilities include:

  • Adding new applications to existing solutions
  • Ensure the wellbeing, motivation, and performance of your team
  • Have a genuine and personal interest in evolution of software development

Who are you?

We expect that you join us with:

  • 2-5 years of experience in people management of software development in complex organizations
  • A strong technical background (e.g., Engineer, MSc, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong facilitation capabilities and a drive to nurture productive collaborations
  • You are curious, self-driven, and eager to understand our customers’ businesses to create impactful software where we understand our customers needs. You thrive on solving complex problems and developing improvements with clear business outcomes. While being a strong leader, you understand that leadership is balance between conviction and self-insight, and that you are never done learning.

You are structured and possess a “get up and go” attitude. Your ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively is key to your success.

Meet Mariana – Chemometrician in Research & Development

Mariana is a Spanish Chemometrician specialised in NIR. Coming from a research background her move to FOSS was motivated by a desire to work with real products and real customers. AT FOSS she is involved in the innovation of new products, developing calibrations for the EyeFoss image analysis grain analyser.
