We are looking for an Instrument Technician to join our development teams in the friendly and fast-paced R&D Laboratories Program.
The job
The Instrument Technician is hands-on in the R&D new product development project(s) and an integral part of the Program team. As Instrument Technician you will work closely with the project team members to ensure that all instruments are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner to ensure that the project progresses as planned.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain test setups, functional models, and prototypes.
- Perform hardware and software updates to keep instruments current.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instruments and related equipment.
- Keep an overview of instrument status and configuration, maintaining accurate configuration logs in coordination with hardware, software and measurement chain teams.
- Support testing activities, including performance verification, REL testing, and field trials.
- Contribute to technical documentation (drawings, schematics, BOMs, assembly documentation).
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams on new product introduction and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and contribute to a safe laboratory environment.
- Take on additional responsibilities (e.g. Health & Safety) aligned with interests and skills.
Qualifications
We expect you to have the following qualifications:
- Educational background: Electronics or Automation Technician (EUD)
- Experience: Electronics preferred, but Mechanics background or related field is also relevant
- 3-5+ years of relevant technical experience
- Skilled at reading technical drawings/schematics and producing clear documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in teams.
- You are familiar with safety protocols and best practices in labs and workshops

You are an open and pro-active person who thrives in teamwork and a practical problem solver. You have a keen interest in technology, learning new skills and are known for being a hands-on generalist that gets the job done.
