Consultant - Financial Services Advisory

Are you looking to start your career in the consulting industry and thrive amongst supportive colleagues and leaders who will help you grow both professionally and personally? Do you thrive when faced with tricky situations and enjoy working through challenges? And do you see yourself supporting Danish and Nordic Financial Services companies becoming more digital, resilient, and compliant enterprises? You’ve come to the right place.

As a Consultant in Financial Services Advisory (FSA), you’ll work with leading banks, insurance companies, pension funds and capital market players on their most pressing transformation agendas. From day one, you’ll be part of client projects that combine risk, regulation, and digital innovation.

Your work will typically include:

  • Solving complex problems – analyzing data, mapping business requirements, and assessing gaps to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Driving execution – supporting project delivery through PMO tasks, testing solutions, and ensuring progress against milestones.
  • Creating impact – preparing clear, high-quality material and presentations that help clients and senior stakeholders act on your insights.
  • Collaborating widely – working closely with specialists across Denmark, the Nordics and KPMG’s global network to bring the right skills to every challenge.

You'll progressively develop your competencies, gain broad exposure across risk, digital, and compliance transformation, and start building the skill set to become a trusted advisor to financial services clients.

Perks of joining our amazing team

Our team consists of +60 diverse people, servicing financial services companies in the Nordics on their digital, risk and compliance transformation journeys. What we primarily do is to:

  • Dive into the world of risk transformation by developing and implementing frameworks that help financial institutions foresee and manage risks, bolstering their resilience and sustainability footprint.
  • Collaborate in digital banking and insurance initiatives , supporting in designing digital target operating models or making use of the latest AI and digital tools to assist clients in becoming AI-first, data-driven enterprises
  • Engage in projects addressing new regulatory requirements and financial crime challenges, ensuring our clients maintain robust compliance standards.

We spent some time thinking about what sets our team apart – hopefully these resonate with you:

  • We are casual and social: We believe in the value of psychological safety and mentoring because we think that if you bring your whole self to work, everyone benefits. You might want to join our book club, to discuss things that do not surface in the 9-17 job.
  • We are diverse: We believe in the advantages of intellectual and personal diversity, and when you join you might sit next to a historian, an actuary, and a business graduate.
  • We are transformative and commercial thinkers: You might find yourself digging around in the bottom an excel-sheet some days, but we always put an effort into formulating just exactly how our projects support enterprise value for our clients.
  • We are specialists with range: You might have lunch with people speaking only in acronyms, but we value the virtue of being able to speak a little about a lot and focus on cutting through complexity.
  • We are local and global: You will be working in the Nordics, but we serve our Nordic clients through the global KPMG firm, and you will learn from colleagues across EMEA, UK and US offices.

About you, our newest team member

Whether you have already finished your studies or will graduate in 2026, you’re ready to make an impact and start your professional journey with us. We do not have a formula for the perfect candidate. However, our experience tells us that one personal trait often leads to contributing positively to our team: You should be curious by nature and motivated by learning – not just about the next consulting buzz, but also to learn more about yourself.

On the professional side, we seek candidates who are energized by work that aligns with one or more of our three service pillars:

  • Risk and Regulatory
  • Digital Transformation
  • Financial Crime, Legal and Compliance Transformation

You might have an emerging super-power or just a sincere interest in one of our three service pillars or want to develop yourself as a generalist transformation advisor within Financial Services. In either case, we are sure you will find our team a great place to grow.

Looking for a graduate programme? Let us show you another way to grow.

At KPMG, you will join a flexible and supportive environment that encourages both personal and professional growth. From day one, you’ll work on meaningful client projects and collaborate with a diverse team of skilled professionals.

Alongside your everyday learning as a consultant, you’ll also join our KPMG Challenger Academy - a structured three-module program designed to build up your consulting skills through training and workshops with other new consultants. Whether you’re fresh out of university or already have some experience, the Academy ensures everyone starts on the same playing field.

Throughout the journey, you’ll set your own goals, benefit from continuous feedback, and receive guidance from your assigned Koach, supporting you in building the career you are sincerely motivated by.

As part of your response, tell us about the unique skills, experiences, or perspectives you bring that would make you a valuable contributor to your chosen area.
