Job Description

Join us as the Senior Automation Engineer with the responsibility for the architecture and structure of the PLC code for Airport Automation and help us to continue delivering cutting-edge technology for baggage handling systems in airports across the globe. You get to configure and programme the solutions of tomorrow with our very own test centre right next door.

To further expand and strengthen our team in Airport Automation we are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our Product team. You become part of a team dedicated to working with our CrisBag product. Together with the team, you’ll bring tomorrow’s automation solutions to life with immediate access to our in-house test centre for prototyping, simulation, and validation.

Play a crucial part in defining the future structure and architecture

As the Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for defining a stabile structure and architecture for the CrisBag Product and adapt industrial standards to fit BEUMER CrisBag. You will be responsible for the continuous development and maintenance of the product to secure peak performance and agility.

Moreover, your responsibilities will be:

  • Developing PLC code for modules, elements, and specific solutions in our baggage handling system.
  • Defining the best solutions for specific products.
  • Commissioning your PLC code virtually, as well as testing it at our test centre.
  • Reviewing layouts and solutions early in the process to ensure that we use our standard product offerings.
  • Mentor team members in code development, promoting best practices and knowledge-sharing.
  • Participating in the documentation of our solutions.

As you master the system architecture and programs, you will take on responsibility of the automation product part of our CrisBag product taking the lead in defining the structure and architecture. As an essential part of the role, you will participate in project definition and review meetings.

Skilled Automation Engineer

We expect you to be a skilled and experienced PLC/Automation Engineer. You bring an inclusive mindset to your work, actively sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues to find the best solutions to complex challenges. You take a proactive approach, demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, and work in a structured and reliable manner.

Furthermore, we expect that:

  • You have experience with Siemens TIA, STL (Statement list) and SCL (Structured Control Language).
  • You have experience within object-oriented programming for larger project-based machines.
  • You have a strong understanding of hardware integration, I/O nodes, drives, network design (Profinet) and ethernet communication.
  • You speak and write English fluently.
