Your Role

Are you a dynamic and strategic thinker with a passion for forging meaningful connections and driving business growth? As our Director of Naval Business Development, you will be at the forefront of expanding Saab’s footprint in the Danish Maritime Domain.

Working closely with your national and international colleagues and the Country Manager of Denmark, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our order intake targets and long-term business objectives. Your mission will be to identify new opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, stakeholder management and ensure our sustained success in Europe.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Crafting and executing innovative business strategies to enhance Saab’s market presence in Denmark and other NATO countries
  • Building and nurturing strong, lasting relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders with focus on the Naval Domain
  • Act as the Customer Sales Responsible on business opportunities within the Naval Domain
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, ensuring meticulous reporting in our CRM system
  • Representing Saab at industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities
  • Collaborating with the Country Manager and Saab global business units to achieve strategic goals
  • Reporting to the Country Manager
  • Driving country-specific business development initiatives and improving processes
  • Acting as a crucial link between the customer, Saab Global Business Development and other entities within our global organisation to ensure successful outcomes

Your Profile

We are seeking a visionary business developer with a proven track record in navigating complex business environments and building enduring relationships. You thrive in an international setting and possess a deep understanding of the Danish defence, the defence industry and relevant procurement processes. Your strong business acumen and ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relations will be instrumental to your success in this role.

To excel in this position, you likely have:

  • Relevant academic and/or military education preferably within the Naval Domain
  • Strong network within the Armed forces of Denmark, Ministry of Defence and preferably at political level
  • Experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within an international environment
  • Exceptional negotiation, influence, and leadership skills to drive business initiatives forward
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in both Danish and English
  • Solid understanding of the Danish culture, public procurement processes, and the defence sector
  • Proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to lead initiatives from strategy to execution
  • Ability to conduct meetings with stakeholders on short notice, primarily in the Copenhagen area
  • Willingness to travel domestically and abroad (up to 30 days annually)

This position will be based in the Copenhagen area, Denmark.

Since you will be working with among others Danish Armed Forces, it is a requirement that you must be able to work with classified information. This means that you must be able to be security cleared by the Danish Defence Intelligence Services. It also requires that you will have to be approved by a Saab internal security process.
